Project Description: Soldier Field is the home of the NFL Chicago Bears. The entire stadium was renovated in 2001, which included the demolition of the existing stadium except for the original historical ring structure. Scope of Work: John Fenn, the environmental project manager on Turner, Barton Malow, & Kenny (TBMK) Construction’s team, performed project management oversight and engineering services for the assessment, abatement, and remediation of earthwork, building materials and air quality issues. John provided environmental oversight and performed OSHA compliance monitoring as the construction progressed. John provided coordination with the design team and the owner of the entire process, during the construction of a new stadium. In addition to close management and coordination, the details of the design allowed the additional work to be completed without impacting the original schedule. All the environmental work was completed in 10 weeks to allow the new stadium to be constructed and open for the 2003 football season.
