Project Description:
JHF was the Environmental Consultant for the construction of a multilevel garage for the University of Chicago, and performed the initial Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site assessments. This involved collection of numerous soil and water samples as well as laboratory analysis to determine extent of any contamination for soil disposal purposes. The information was used in conjunction with the scope of the excavation to assist in effective site soil management and disposal options for excess soils. JHF performed daily monitoring of excavation, potholing and caisson installation to insure OSHA compliance for site workers. JHF also assisted in preparing soil profiles for proper disposal of clean and contaminated soils off site.
